ASPMN® Awards

Chapter Excellence Award
The ASPMN® Chapter Award, established in 2000 by the American Society for Pain Management Nursing®, is presented to an ASPMN® chapter in recognition of development and activity for support of pain management nursing. The chapter award is now linked with the submission of the chapter annual reports and will be considered only if this report is active on file.

Dr. Jo Eland, Excellence in Pediatric Nursing Award

The Dr. Jo Eland, Excellence in Pediatric Nursing Award, originally established in 2011 as the ASPMN® Nurse Exemplar Award, is presented to a nurse in recognition of outstanding contribution to the field of pain management for the pediatric patient.​

Humanitarian Award
Humanitarian Award criteria and application (pdf)
The ASPMN® Humanitarian Award, established in 2010 by the American Society for Pain Management Nursing®, is presented to an individual in recognition of their outstanding involvement and dedication to the community through their voluntary service. Self nominations are encouraged.

Nurse Exemplar Award

The ASPMN® Nurse Exemplar Award, established in 2000 by the American Society for Pain Management Nursing®, is presented to a nurse in recognition of outstanding contribution to the field of pain management nursing. Self nominations are encouraged.

Distinguished Service Award
Distinguished Service Award criteria and application (pdf)
The ASPMN® Distinguished Service Award, established in 2000 by the ASPMN® Council of Past Presidents, is presented to a member of ASPMN® in recognition of outstanding leadership, participation, and contributions toward achieving the goals of ASPMN®. Self nominations are encouraged.

Clinical Practice Award

The ASPMN® Clinical Practice Award is presented to an ASPMN® member who has made outstanding contributions to the field of clinical pain practice.

Advocacy Award
Advocacy Award criteria and application (pdf)
The ASPMN® Pain Management Advocacy Award, established in 2004 by the ASPMN® Board of Directors, is presented to an individual or group in recognition of outstanding contributions in promoting awareness of pain and its treatment through local, state, and national advocacy programs, governmental reform, and/or media exposure.

Nurse Exemplar Award in Pain Management of the Older Adult
Exemplar Award in Pain Management Older Adult criteria and application (pdf)​
The ASPMN® Nurse Exemplar Award in Pain Management of the Older Adult, established in 2005 by the American Society for Pain Management Nursing® and the Nurse Competence in Aging Project of the American Nursing Associate, Specialty Nursing Association Partners Grant, is presented to a nurse in recognition of outstanding contribution to the care of older adults with pain. Self nominations are encouraged.

ASPMN® RESEARCH GRANT

Application Deadline June 30, 2017

All applicants for project/research support should submit a proposal following the process outlined for merit comparison of proposals. The applicant and the institution are required to affirm that satisfactory ethical precautions shall be taken with regard to projects involving human subjects as described in the guidelines. All applications shall be reviewed by the ASPMN® Grant Review Subcommittee of the Research Committee of the American Society for Pain Management Nursing®.
