Dr. Jo Eland, Excellence in Pediatric Nursing Award

The Dr. Jo Eland, Excellence in Pediatric Nursing Award, originally established in 2011 as the ASPMN® Nurse Exemplar Award, is presented to a nurse in recognition of outstanding contribution to the field of pain management for the pediatric patient. Self-nominations are encouraged.

Excellence in Nursing Award for Pain Management of the Older Adult

The ASPMN Excellence in Nursing Award for Pain Management of the Older Adult, established in 2005 by the American Society for Pain Management Nursing and the Nurse Competence in Aging Project of the American Nursing Associate, Specialty Nursing Association Partners Grant, is presented to a nurse in recognition of outstanding contribution to the care of older adults with pain. Rising Star Award

The ASPMN Rising Star Award, established in 2020 by the ASPMN Board of Directors, is presented to a newer* pain management nurse in recognition of outstanding contributions to the field of pain management nursing as well as recognized potential future contributions.

Graduate Nurse Scholarship- Jean Guveyan Award

Two conference scholarships for up to $1,500 each are available for the 2024 National Conference from the Jean Guveyan Education Fund.

Winners will attend the Jean Guveyan reception on October 17, to meet Past Presidents and give an informal three-minute talk on graduate pain management work or pain management practices.


Scholarship is to be used toward recipient's 2024 National Conference expenses, including:

  • Conference Registration Fees
  • Conference Host Hotel Lodging
  • Airline or Other Cost-Effective Means of Travel
  • Meal Expenses

The deadline for submission is August 18, 2024. Award winners will be notified by September 10, 2024.

RESEARCH GRANT

Guidelines and Application

All applicants for project/research support should submit a proposal following the process outlined for merit comparison of proposals. The applicant and the institution are required to affirm that satisfactory ethical precautions shall be taken with regard to projects involving human subjects as described in the guidelines. All applications shall be reviewed by the ASPMN Grant Review Subcommittee of the Research Committee of the American Society for Pain Management Nursing. EVIDENCE BASED PRACTICE-PROJECT GRANT

ASPMN® now offers grant support for Evidence Based Practice Projects!! ASPMN® wants to support pain management nurses participating in evidence-based projects and the site is now open for submission! These applications should follow the process outlined in the application and is based on merit review principles, incorporating technical aspects of a proposal and its potential to contribute more broadly to the mission of ASPMN®: To advance optimal evidence-based nursing care for persons experiencing pain. This is accomplished through education, standards, advocacy, and research.

A description of merit review criteria is described in the application. EBP grant applications must be submitted by the established deadline to be considered for funding. The applicant and the institution are required to affirm that satisfactory ethical precautions will be taken regarding proposals involving human subjects as described in this guideline.

All applications will be reviewed by the ASPMN® Grant Review Committee of the Research Committee of ASPMN® according to established criteria.
